Questa prossima conferenza annuale ICC sarà la prima al timone di Jay Shah, dopo aver conquistato l’organo Apex a dicembre dello scorso anno.
The ICC annual conference is set to take place in Singapore, most likely in the third week of July, as per a report in Cricbuzz. This would be the first such meeting under former BCCI secretary, and the current ICC president Jay Shah, where a few key decisions will be made.
Major Changes Upcoming in ODIs & Tests?
Meanwhile, the decision to host the meeting in Singapore was made during the meetings recently held in Zimbabwe — Harare and Victoria Falls. Singapore is also Imran Khawaja’s constituency, which will bring the first ever ICC annual conference to the nation.
For starters, the ICC is considering a forming a Working Group, which will examine the recommendations put across by the Cricket Committee, which is headed by Sourav Ganguly. Then there will be consideration over the use of a single ball in the ODIs, from the 25th over, to bring back reverse swing in play.
Men’s U-19 T20 World Cup Soon?
Not just that, there could be discussions over brining in-game clocks in Tests, so that 90 overs are completed in a day. There were also suggestions for white-ball formats too, where the time limit in-between the overs should not be more than 60 seconds. Plus, there could be efforts to introduce the boys U-19 World Cup in T20 format; something which has already started in the women’s game.
Apart from that, discussions on forming the World Cricket Association have already been done. It aims at restructuring the ICC governance of the financial distribution model.
