India cricket team will have their first practice session in Dubai on Friday ahead of Asia Cup 2025. The eight-nation tournament will commence from September 9 onwards and the Men in Blue will play their first match on September 10. Members of the Indian team were scheduled to depart for Dubai on September 4 and several stars have reportedly reached the destination.
India to hold first practice session before Asia Cup
As per RevSportz, Team India will have their first practice session at the ICC Academy in Dubai between 6 PM to 9.30 PM (local time). The Indian players reportedly arrived in different batches on Thursday. Some of the stars who are already in Dubai include captain Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Rinku Singh, Harshit Rana, Abhishek Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson, head coach Gautam Gambhir and batting coach Sitanshu Kotak.
Defending champions India will play the hosts, the United Arab Emirates, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 10. Unlike previous tournaments, the BCCI has directed all players to assemble directly in Dubai, skipping the customary preparatory camp in India. The Men in Blue have won the Asia Cup 8 times so far and will be looking to add another trophy to their cabinet. The tournament also marks the start of India’s preparations for the T20 World Cup which will be held in February 2026.
