Mentre Tilak Varma ha firmato un contratto a quattro partite con l’Hampshire, Ishan Kishan giocherà solo due partite per il Nottinghamshire.

It was the day 3 of the ongoing round of matches in the County Championships, and understandably, there was a lot of interest for the Indian fans too. That is because the likes of Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Khaleel Ahmed and Yuzvendra Chahal are plying their trade for various counties, in the competition. Insidesport takes a look at how these Indian players fared for their teams.

Khaleel Ahmed Ineffective Against Yorkshire

There were a lot of expectation from left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed, but it seems he could not adjust to batting conducive English conditions. Turning up for Essex, he was on the expensive side, as he could only manage to return with figures of 1/124 in 26 overs. He went on to remove a dangerous-looking Jonny Bairstow. That meant the opposition went on to take a sizeable lead over Essex of 91 runs, after they had managed 368 runs in the first innings.

Tilak Varma Saves Hampshire’s Face

Tilak Varma is in some seriously good form here. In the last Hampshire vs Essex match, he scored a 100 for his team, and now he has followed it up with a 56 vs Worcestershire, in testing situation. After allowing the opposition to score 679, Tilak’s team failed to put on a good show with the bat. The Indian was the top-scorer, as the team was bundled out for 221 only, later asked to follow on.

Ishan Kishan Leaves His Mark in Short Stint

Even though Ishan Kishan might have joined Nottinghamshire for a two-match stint only, but he seems to have made the best of this opportunity. Playing in the division 1, he first scored 87 vs Yorkshire in his first innings, and now has followed it up with a handsome 77 from 128 deliveries.

In reply to Somerset’s 379, Kishan came up with a brisk innings, that included eight fours and two sixes. Eventually he got out to England spinner Jack Leach. His team was bundled out for 509, with an overall lead of 130.

Yuzvendra Chahal Wastes Opportunity

Although Yuzi did not bowl on Tuesday, as his side were batting, but then still, he had a poor outing with the ball, the previous day. Playing for Northamptonshire in division 2, he bowled 42 overs against Kent, gave away 129 runs and could not pick up a wicket. Nonetheless, his team did well to come close to Kent’s first innings score of 566.
