The IPL 2025 is set to resume after a ceasefire was achieved between India and Pakistan. The BCCI and IPL governing council will announce a revised schedule in the coming days, with the tournament likely to be restricted to just 4 cities. The IPL 2025 playoffs however, are likely to be played at the respective venues in Hyderabad and Kolkata.

“IPL will restart next week, in four venues. The venues will be shortlisted soon, and the venues of the qualifier, eliminator and finals are likely to remain the same,” a BCCI official told ANI.

IPL 2025 set to resume with LSG vs RCB game

The IPL 2025 was suspended, with the PBKS vs DC clash halted midway in Dharamsala. Both teams and fans were evacuated from the stadium at the height of the India-Pakistan conflict. As per reports, that game is likely to stay abandoned with the IPL set to resume with the LSG vs RCB game which was originally scheduled for May 8.

“The tournament will resume with the match between RCB and LSG. The final venue could be changed as rain can affect the matches in Kolkata later, so this call will be taken accordingly,” a BCCI told ANI.

The original schedule had 12 league games remaining and four playoffs. A final decision on the PBKS vs DC game is expected when the revised IPL 2025 schedule is announced. The final was scheduled for May 26 in Eden Gardens. BCCI could revise the schedule for the tournament to finish in May itself. The Indian board is likely to push the date of the final further and allocate more double headers.

BCCI are going their shortlist of venues and it is likely that the Indian cricket board allocate these games in South India. The India-Pakistan conflict has seen cities targeted in India’s North and West. Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad could be viable options to host the remaining games. Vishakhapatnam also hosted Delhi Capitals earlier this season.
