The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be held at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on July 5, 2026. The announcement was made during a launch event at Lord’s on May 1.
This will be the first time Lord’s hosts a Women’s T20 World Cup final. The venue last staged a major women’s final in 2017, when England defeated India to win the 50-over World Cup in front of a packed crowd. As for 2026, England will host the women’s tournament, while the Men’s T20 World Cup will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah called it a “defining moment” for women’s cricket, adding that the UK’s diverse fanbase and previous successes make it an ideal host for this expanded edition.
“The confirmation of venues represents a defining moment as we build towards the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. This tournament will bring together the world’s finest players in a celebration of skill, spirit and sportsmanship,” Shah said.

Four more teams will join the tournament via a global qualifier in 2025, rounding off the 12-team lineup—the largest ever in Women’s T20 World Cup history.
New Zealand will enter as the defending champions after winning the previous edition in the UAE in 2024. They beat South Africa in the final in Dubai. The complete tournament schedule will be announced at a later date.
